Privacy Policy
Last updated:
MatchHalf, operating from Punjab, Pakistan (“MatchHalf,” “we,” “us”), is responsible for the personal information it processes through the MatchHalf website and related account, matchmaking, community, messaging, verification, and support features.
This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, who receives it, and how to make privacy choices or requests. Read it alongside our Terms of Service. Third-party services you choose to use also have their own privacy notices.
1. Information we collect
- Account and sign-in information: name, username, email, phone number where provided, date of birth, gender, credentials, authentication identifiers, verification status, and linked account details.
- Profile and partner preferences: photos, biography, location and any address you enter, religion, sect, caste or community, languages, education, occupation, income, family information, marital status, children, physical characteristics, lifestyle, hobbies, and matching preferences.
- Content and interactions: messages and attachments, posts, comments, reactions, community membership and events, connections, likes, profile views, blocks, reports, and online or last-seen activity.
- Verification: email or phone verification details and, if you choose facial verification, camera captures, a mathematical facial reference, photo similarity scores, consent records, and results.
- Purchases: plan, payment provider, transaction identifiers, payment status, amount and currency, billing period, and renewal or cancellation status. Hosted payment providers collect your payment instrument details.
- AI and support: prompts, generated replies, saved AI chat history, contact form details, feedback, reports, and support conversations.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, approximate IP-based country, region or city, browser, operating system, device type, language, time zone, screen size, page and event timestamps, session identifiers, referral sources, campaign or advertising click identifiers, and diagnostic logs.
Some profile fields can reveal sensitive information, including religious beliefs or ethnic background. Only provide information you want processed for the relevant feature. Required account fields are identified in signup; withholding them may prevent registration. Optional profile details and verification can affect matching or the availability of related features.
2. Where information comes from
We receive information from you, your use of the service, people who interact with or report your account, and providers you choose to use. Google, Facebook, Discord, Telegram, or WhatsApp sign-in and linking flows may provide a provider identifier, name, email, phone number, username, or profile image, depending on the provider and permissions.
We also receive payment confirmations and approximate location information from IP lookup services. Linking an account does not give us unrestricted access to your social accounts. Manage linked sign-in methods in account settings and permissions through the provider.
3. How and why we use information
- Register and authenticate accounts, maintain profiles and settings, and deliver purchased features.
- Suggest matches using profile information and partner preferences, support search, and facilitate connections, messaging, posts, and communities.
- Perform requested verification and compare uploaded photos with your facial reference.
- Process payments, manage renewal and cancellation, and maintain transaction records.
- Answer support requests, deliver service communications, investigate reports, moderate content, and prevent fraud or unauthorized access.
- Provide requested AI replies, maintain AI history, and manage feature usage limits.
- With your optional tracking choices, measure service usage and advertising performance.
- Comply with applicable obligations and resolve disputes or legal claims.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract for account and paid services; legitimate interests in security, abuse prevention and support, subject to your rights; legal obligations for required records and disclosures; and consent for optional tracking and other processing that requires consent. Sensitive profile information and biometric processing require additional safeguards and, where required by law, explicit consent. Accepting the Terms or reading this policy is not consent to optional advertising or biometric processing.
4. What other people can see
Your profile, photos, presence information, and shared content are shown according to the feature, audience, privacy settings, community rules, and applicable plan restrictions. Profile cards and posts can disclose details to their selected audience. Community administrators can access information needed to administer their communities. Messages and attachments are available to recipients.
Review Privacy & Visibility, message settings, and each post or photo audience before sharing. Visibility controls do not prevent a permitted viewer from copying, taking screenshots, or sharing information outside the service. Previously shared copies may remain with recipients after you change settings or close your account.
Authorized staff may access relevant account, content, or verification information for support, moderation, security, and legal requests. Messages are processed by the service; do not assume end-to-end encryption or that the operator cannot access them.
5. Facial verification and biometric information
Facial verification is optional and starts after the capture consent step. With camera permission, we capture a short sequence of face images, check motion and facial consistency, and create an encrypted mathematical facial reference for current and future photo comparisons. This reference and the processing used to create it may constitute biometric information under applicable law.
Capture evidence is configured to be removed after processing or when the seven-day processing window expires. The saved facial reference remains until you remove verification or request erasure. Verification status and eligible photo resemblance results can be visible to other members subject to photo privacy and plan access; the facial reference itself is not a public profile field.
You can withdraw from capture before submitting, cancel pending verification, or remove the saved reference in Verification settings. Removing it disables future comparisons and clears related verification and photo similarity results. Contact support for erasure or to question a result. These checks measure facial consistency and visual similarity; they do not establish legal identity, perform criminal background checks, or guarantee protection against impersonation.
6. AI features and automated suggestions
When you use AI chat, the submitted prompt is sent to the configured AI provider, which may include Google Gemini or OpenAI. Prompts, responses, selected model information, and usage records may be stored with your account; a copy of chat history may also be stored in your browser. The support chatbot is supplied by Qwry AI and processes what you enter in that widget.
Do not include passwords, payment details, or another person’s sensitive information in AI prompts. Provider processing and retention also depend on the service and account terms that apply to that provider. This policy does not promise that all providers have identical retention or model-training settings.
Match suggestions use information such as your profile and partner preferences. Verification uses automated motion and similarity checks and can affect your verification badge and photo results. Suggestions and scores can be inaccurate. You can change preferences, choose whether to use these features, and contact support to challenge a result or request review where available or required by law.
9. International processing
MatchHalf operates from Punjab, Pakistan. Providers and their infrastructure may process information in Pakistan and other countries, whose privacy laws may differ from those where you live. A provider’s regional endpoint does not mean every service or support operation is confined to that region.
Where a transfer is restricted by applicable law, the required transfer mechanism and safeguards must apply, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. Contact support for information about providers, processing locations, or safeguards relevant to your information.
10. Retention, account closure, and erasure
We retain account and profile information while your account exists to provide the service. Temporary verification captures have the shorter processing window described above. Retention of payment, security, support, and dispute records depends on their purpose and applicable legal requirements.
You can start account closure through Account & sign-in settings. The current flow includes a 30-day cancellation period before the account is marked deleted. Deactivation or an account being marked deleted does not by itself confirm that all stored information has been erased. To request erasure of the underlying personal information, email [email protected] with the subject “Personal data erasure.”
We assess erasure requests under applicable law, including whether specific records must be kept for legal obligations, fraud or abuse investigations, or existing claims. We explain any applicable exception when responding. Copies held by recipients, independent payment or sign-in providers, and backups may require separate handling. We do not promise every copy is removed immediately or on the same schedule.
Signing out does not necessarily remove browser-stored AI history or preferences. Clear site data through your browser if needed. Closing an account is separate from cancelling a paid renewal; see the payment terms.
11. Security
We use access controls, authentication measures, protected verification storage, and diagnostic filtering to reduce unauthorized access and unnecessary disclosure. Security depends on the feature and deployed infrastructure. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Keep credentials and private verification links secure. Report suspected account misuse to support. Avoid sharing financial or identity documents in messages unless you understand the recipient and purpose.
12. Your privacy rights and requests
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access or obtain a copy of information, correct it, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, receive portable data, withdraw consent, and complain to a competent privacy or consumer authority. Where applicable, you may also have rights concerning targeted advertising, sensitive information, and significant automated decisions.
Update profiles and visibility in settings, remove facial verification through its settings, and use the tracking controls above. For other requests, email [email protected] and identify the request and account. We may ask for proportionate identity verification to protect information, including evidence of authority if someone acts for you. We handle requests within the time required by applicable law and explain lawful limitations. You will not be penalized for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Disconnecting social sign-in or removing app access at a provider does not necessarily erase your MatchHalf account. Facebook users can use Facebook’s app-removal/data-deletion controls or contact us directly. A callback acknowledgment is not proof that erasure has finished.
13. Adults only
MatchHalf is intended for adults aged 18 or older who meet legal eligibility requirements where they live. People under 18 must not register or submit a profile, including through another person. If you believe a minor’s information has been submitted, contact support so we can investigate and take appropriate removal action.
14. Changes to this policy
We update the date when this policy changes. For material changes, we provide additional notice through the service or an appropriate account communication where required. If a new use requires consent, we seek it before that use; a policy update does not replace consent.
